The Deba-Zumaia Protected Natural Landscape

The Protected Natural Landscape covers 8 kilometres of the coast of Gipuzkoa, between Deba and Zumaia.The looming cliffs, the beaches and the picturesque countryside make this a particularly breath-taking area.

When it comes to the natural structures, the Protected Natural Landscape's importance lies in the coastal geomorphology, the abrasioan platform, the biological diversity of the tidal platform, and, above all, as it contains one of the planet's most impressive geological outcrop: the Zumaia flysch, a type of geological book that is 8 kilometres long and which reveals over 50 million years of the history of the Earth.
